Question #1:

Do you think that when kids under 16 watch brutal horror movies it trains them to harden their hearts?

I'm thinking about films like the "Chucky" series and the chainsaw horror genre. Is this one reason many people don't care about the suffering of others, and support wars against people who haven't attacked us? Or abuse minorities? When they are watching these terrible things don't they have to learn not to care about or even enjoy the suffering they're seeing or it would be unbearable? Does it change how they think about people in the larger world?
Some kids start watching these when they are only 10 years old.

Question #2:

Can US Marines in the intelligence MOS go to USMC Recon?

I have read "One Bullet Away" by Captain Nathaniel Fick, and while he didn't mention if he was training with just fellow infantry (he was an infantry officer before retiring), I was wondering if other Marines in other MOS's can 'try out' for Recon. I understand Recon gathers intelligence, and I also understand that the intelligence field deals with a much broader scope than trying to figure out where the enemy is initially.

Question #3:

FireRed moveset for Jolteon?

Okay, I need help on this one. However!! I am not particularly in-depth with my pokemon-playing, and neither are the people I play or will potentially play against (local friends). I don't EV train and I want nothing to do with the madness that is IV-calculating for Hidden Power. The farthest I go will be to consider his nature and his stats.

So! Could someone please give me a good moveset accesible in FireRed and lacking in Hidden Move? I'm not a big fan of Baton Pass either. And can anyone suggest a good nature to compliment his moveset?

I'm not hugely competitive, I just want a good set to play through the game and against local friends.

Right now I'm thinking:
Thunderbolt
Thunderwave
Substitute
--- (unknown fourth slot)

((Is this too picky? I'm sorry, but also, thank you for your consideration.))

Question #4:

Question #6:

Have you noticed how...?

rude people are? I'm in my 20's and am constantly shocked by how rude people in my same age category are. For instance, I had an acquaintance invite me to her moving day (in preparation for her wedding), but not to the wedding. Her wedding was not going to be super small. She invited 150 people, according to her sister. Do people not use their home training, or WHAT is going on with all the faux pas and breaking of the rules of courtesy? Thoughts?
Tapestry -- she invited 150 people. That's not that small of a wedding. Not huge, but not small, either.
Old Mister Happy -- I didn't go to the moving day, in fact, and, yes, the moving day had a direct relationship to her wedding. Thanks for a non-answer.

Question #10:

Am I too old to take up Thai Boxing?

I'm 23 years old and I am considering taking up Thai Boxing. I am quite fit as I jog regularly and do press ups every other day. I want to take up Thai Boxing to improve my strength/fitness and also to improve my confidence. I haven't really got intentions of becoming a professional fighter, but I am just wondering whether I'm too old to take up this sport. This is because I have thought that to become a proficient martial artist/fighter that an individual should start when they are a lot younger. Also if you think that 23 is not too old to start, what level do you think I could attain if I was serious and comitted to training. I would appreciate any relevant responses.

Question #11:

I would like to be a SEAL??????????

I would like to be a SEAL, and I know the training and life style will push me to the edge, make build a bridge, and then push me to another edge, but if someone is in top physical form and meets all basic entry requirments such as weight, height, age, hearing and eye sight, plus the entry physical requirments such as the 500 yard swim, the run and the sit ups and push ups, will boil down to how bad I want it, how hard will I fight for it, and my mind set that will ultimatly be my main obstacle or can the human body really only take so much and that varys from person to person no matter how bad they want something?

Question #13:

A question about becoming a dental hygienist in the NAVY?

Okay,so you go to the school first, as a civilian and get certified as a Dental Hygienist. Now does it matter if I take the program at a regular community college or a vocational school? Both would lead me in the same direction to get certified in california. Then I would join the Navy....Does the Navy care which choice you make to be trained to get certified?

Would I still have to take the ASVAB even though I would be coming in as a certified dental hygienist? And would I still attend boot camp?

Thank you. Any tips about this would help!

Question #14:

will my dog beg and have bad behaviors.......?

My husband has a Siberian husky and she is four years old. He got her before we were married and right off he started feeding her people food. She begs really bad. She pretty much get into your lap when you are eating and I feel as if that is very rude and disgusting. I personally do not like hair and dog drool in my food. I made him stop feeding her people food when we had our first daughter because it was out of control and I didn't want the dog to start begging my daughter for her food. Well long story short I am getting a Great Pyrenees in January and I am the one who will be the primary care taker of this dog including the obedience classes and my dog will not get any people food. My husband seems to think that my dog will beg just as bad as his dog and I don't think that he will but he keeps telling me I am wrong. What do you think? What can I do to prevent this from happening? His dog is very poorly behaves.... still uses the carpet to go to the bathroom and still eats things. I know what you are thinking why get another dog.... I am getting it because it has been my dream to have one of these dogs and it will be trained correctly and by me, myself but am just making sure I can prevent the bad behaviors that the dog we already has so that my dog will not do them himself. Help!! Serious answers please! Thanks

Question #15:

What the hell is wrong with the Madden 11 NFL Superstar mode?

I just went through Road to Glory mode in NCAA11 wit Denard Robinson, and it was quite fun. So then I advance Denard onto the next level and export him to madden. Well that went well.... He was drafted by the Ravens (Nothing happend, just informed me who picked him, it didnt even tell me what round...) Then training camp starts and I end up wasting a ton of time practicing because their is no play limit, no rewards, no points, nothing happened. WTF is the point of practicing? Then the first preseason game rolls around and I expect that he'll get in in like the fourth quarter because he is a 67 overall. However, he ends up starting over Flacco who is like an 87!!?? In addition to all that there was no cut scenes or nothing of Denard before the game, and there are not even announcers after the game. I don't understand what the point is. Why bother if all u do is play silent games and nothing happens. What is EA's deal, how can they be allowed to do this. There have been no improvements to a very very sh!tty game mode. SHAME ON THEM! When will this be fixed? How can I yell at them?

Question #19:

What's wrong with the Padres' pitching, hitting and defense during this losing streak? And, who's to blame?

If I've learned one thing about a baseball season, it's that every baseball team goes through a rough stretch where nothing goes the way it should, and they stop executing and instead resort to pressing to make things happen, and they wait for something to happen, instead of making it happen.

This is no time to be pointing fingers or panicking. True, the San Diego Padres are going through a rough stretch lately, and they're just trying to survive this tough stretch in the NL West division race. But, lately, I've been questioning the Padres' ability to score runs and play good defense, because they're starting to play like a fundamentally dumb last place team that's stopped executing on offense and defense. What's really been wrong with their offense, defense and pitching lately? And, who's really to blame for the Padres' 10-game losing streak as well as their failure to execute on offense and defense, the players or Manager Bud Black, or both?

The Padres really need to end their losing streak soon, otherwise, instead of challenging the Giants for the NL West title, they could be challenging the '61 Phillies and the 1889 Louisville Colonels for the longest losing streak in MLB history instead of the NL West division title they've been setting their sights on since training camp, and Padres fans will be asking themselves this one "What if? question during the offseason, and they'll be feeling very guilty that they didn't end it sooner when they should have.

"What if Jerry Hairston, Jr. hadn't gone done with a knee injury that started this rough stretch in the first place and could possibly cost the Padres the NL West division title should they go winless in September?"

Do you think the Padres are guilty of playing fundamentally dumb baseball, simply because they've stopped executing on offense or defense, or are they just simply the victims of bad breaks and poor execution on offense and defense? And, what do they need to stop this losing streak before it doubles or even triples?

If they don't end this losing streak soon, or start executing on offense and defense, the NL West division title is going to slip away from the Padres' fingers and leave Padres fans with a whole buttload of What ifs and if onlys.

PS: This question could mean the difference between the Padres ending one losing streak on Monday and going on a new winning streak, or the Padres challenging the '61 Phillies and the 1889 Lousville Colonels for the longest losing streak in MLB history and leaving Padres fans with What ifs? and If onlys.., so please be specific about what's wrong with the Padres and what they need to do to end this losing streak before it spirals well out of hand.
